Good to be Back! http://candacecarrabus.com/ScribesTribeBlog/2010/01/15/good-to-be-back/ http://candacecarrabus.com/ScribesTribeBlog/2010/01/15/good-to-be-back/#comments Fri, 15 Jan 2010 05:09:28 +0000 Amy http://candacecarrabus.com/ScribesTribeBlog/?p=153 So glad to be back to our regular Thursday nights after the Christmas break! And good to be around my fellow Tribers tonight. What a great read from Jerry. I had missed hearing the latest happenings of Viki Vaka. And then it was like a mini synopsis clinic as we critiqued Doyle’s novel synopsis. Makes me see that my knowledge about writing one is outdated by about a decade.

Great night, and good to back with my writing buds!

Your hands are cold. Your feet are cold. Your earlobes are cold. Everything is cold. Outside, the landscape is a frozen whitish-blue. Dreary, if you think about it. But inside you beats a writer’s heart, warm with thoughts of stories, old and new. Fond reminisces, important ideas, strong opinions. Send them our way. We’re waiting for a good read over a steaming cup of hot chocolate!

An Amazing Leap! http://candacecarrabus.com/ScribesTribeBlog/2009/10/16/an-amazing-leap/ http://candacecarrabus.com/ScribesTribeBlog/2009/10/16/an-amazing-leap/#comments Fri, 16 Oct 2009 18:42:26 +0000 Joy Wooderson http://candacecarrabus.com/ScribesTribeBlog/?p=144 How did I make the 50-year leap from clunky manual typewriter to this?  I had to download and upload files for my book into the Amazon Kindle site. The e-mail came in at 4:00 p.m. yesterday, but was more than I could handle. I needed time to mentally, emotionally, and physically prepare for yet another venture in the world of electronic publishing. This called for a lovely hot drink before crawling into bed with my corn bag to warm my feet, a Tylenol to help me relax, and soothing music to send me into dreamland.

It worked! This morning I got up and enjoyed my usual cup of coffee, had a good breakfast with an excellent cup of tea, trotted downstairs, scrutinized the instructions I had been given, and proceeded with the task.  To my amazement, and thanks to clear guidance, the downloads/uploads were successful.  In a few days, my book with join the hundreds now available to Kindle readers.  Wow!

What do we mean by “Amazing Story,” you ask? A story that grabs us by the throat, demanding we pay attention. A story that tugs at our heartstrings. Beautiful words with a lyrical quality.
